Bonjour! I'm Courtney from La Fille Américaine (The American Girl), where I blog to help young people live the life of their dreams! La Fille Américaine isn't just about my life as an American girl, but about every girl who wishes to live fully!

My mom and me!

After graduating from college I moved to Paris for a year to teach English at an Elementary school. Spending a year in a foreign country made me feel invincible. When I moved home to Michigan, I felt depressed about the fact that my friends and family hadn't changed. Their lives seemed so safe! I wanted to inspire them to make a change and take risks, but knew that the only way to do so was to lead by example. I launched an inspiring blog and moved back to Paris in May 2011!
