Hi all! I'm Ada popping in from over at Of Woods and Words. I'm thrilled to be meeting all of you!
I'm a 20-something freelance writer living in the deep woods of northern Minnesota. I spend my days in a cabin on the edge of the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness and my blog is my outlet for connecting with others around the globe.
Granted, there's always my partner-in-crime, Andy, to keep me company. He fancies himself a bit of a backwoods curmudgeon, if only in his mind.
I love to explore, travel, write, eat, create, read, laugh and I sincerely believe that happiness and self-discovery should be a part of everyone's daily life. The American transcendentalists (Thoreau, Emerson, et al.) of the 1800s, believed that we discovered the most ourselves by going outdoors and I (the English major) apply that belief to my blog. I'm always up for a new adventure, whether it's working in London, England for half a year or spending the afternoon ice fishing with Andy. One of my very favorite-ist things in the world is blueberry picking, which I do extensively during the summer months.
Of course summer's rather short-lived in these parts. . .
Every season brings its own unique beauty and wonder here. I feel blessed to live amid such a visually inspired landscape and love sharing the daily view from out my window with my readers to hopefully inspire them as well.
In addition to "Northwoods snapshots," my blog's also the place to find tips for living self-sufficiency, gardening and knitting discussions, recipes, book reviews and an ongoing commentary on the rural life. I regularly share "tips from the (freelance writing) trenches" as well. I truly believe in doing what you love and loving what you do and my blog serves as journal of my attempts to "make life what I want it to be."
I love meeting new people and hope you'll swing by soon to check out "my neck of the woods!"

It's always been my dream to live in a cabin, surrounded by nature; how exciting that you're doing just that.
Will be looking forward to enjoying your blog!
