How Often Should You (Do You) Post

There seems to be lots of different opinions about how often you should post! And in our opinion, you should post as often as you'd like! No really. Some people are attracted to more than one post in a day. On the other hand, it's a little too much for some readers. So when you are posting what you love to post, post as often as you'd like. You'll know when it's too much or too little the more you blog.

I personally would recommend to post daily. Your readers want fresh posts everyday and I think it's important in growth.

Now if you are an irregular blogger and post few in one week, like maybe every other day or 3 times a week, readers may get the impression that you are not a frequent blogger and won't bother checking in with you as much. It's difficult to say because in all reality you want your readers to be happy yet you are blogging for you.

I've seen blogs who post 3 or more posts in one day and to me, that's overwhelming. But for some, it's okay because they love that blog and what they are posting about. I like to see a new post each day. Yes bloggy breaks are necessary and should be implemented but for the most part, update your blog. A weekend break is nice and my tip for this is:

When you post your Friday Post, include a lot of things for your readers to enjoy. Such as, several links to fun things you like, a new blog you've discovered, fun photos and/or take them to an older post that you don't think they've read.

Whether you decide to post daily (recommended), a few times a week or more than one post in a day, Learn what is Best for you and what you like. Get it down packed and have your scheduled posts ready to go. If you feel like it's too much, cut back and if you feel like it isn't enough, post more! Good luck with whatever your choice is and stick to your routine.

Please share how often you post and what works best for you! We'd love to hear.

Oh I love this post! Finding a balance is hard ... I know how much I WANT to post, but it's a time factor. I try to post once a day, sometimes I get 2 posts out and other times I can't even get 1 out and go a day or two with nothing (that's rare and makes me all nervous, blogging it like my crack yo!).

I like blogs that post daily or close to, although I know that life dictates how often we find time to be on the computer :)

i'm still building up my blog's "fan base," but i try to post atleast once a day. if i get the urge to post more than once a day (which is normal for me) i will do that too.

I typically post 5 posts per week Mon-Friday. Sometimes I will post a couple in a day but that isn't very often. Sometimes I post on the weekends if something inspires me to do so, but sometimes weekends are tough because we have so much going on or that we are doing!

I find that about 3 times a week is good for me, just easier to manage when life is so very full. When I did post daily my stats went through the roof but after awhile I got writer's block and had to sit too long thinking!! it became a bit hard work and that wasn't how I wanted it to be. I like to write when the creativity is flowing and that seems to be every few days :)

Very interesting post. I post about 4 times a week. I would like to post every day but sometimes I have other writing deadlines to meet as well as other things to do. Anyway I look forward to the day when I can post every day. That would be great!

I think I blog about 3 or 4 times a week normally, I don't blog about everything in my life so it suits me fine.
This is very interesting!
I'd love to say I post every day but unfortunately I don't have time and I am very picky about the quality of my posts, I just can't bare to just dash out crappy posts "just because" so I'd rather do 3-4 posts/week than 6 half-hearted ones. I know I'd get more readers if I did more but I just don't have time...
I do love to post as often as I can. Due to my teaching career I sometimes find I am too overwhelmed at the end of the day to produce anything worthwhile. Also sometimes I want to write but I am only inspired by completly personal experiences which I keep to myself as I don't quite get where I'm coming from if that makes sense? I do agree that once a week isn't enough to keep my interst. I at least aim for 3 a week if possible more.
I enjoy posting every day, but sometimes I burn myself out and take a 5 day break. I need them sometimes, and my readers totally understand so it works out in the end because I come back with fresh content, ready to go!

If you're running an entertainment website with celebrity gossip like I do, than you have to post atlast 2-3 times a day. It's ok though because i love the subject and it makes my websites numbers go way up!!!

I would love to post once a day, however that doesn't happen. I am trying to post every other day by scheduling posts ahead of time, when I have a chance. Unfortunately, I have a very busy life [I'm a law student] so finding time to craft, and photograph my crafts, and edit my photos, and write a post is very difficult!

Great post!! I agree with you ...as far as it being overwhelming to post multiple times per day. If I see more than one post in a day from the same blogger I am likely not I check it out. I also think posting everyday is great advice!

What a great post! I was finding it hard posting 5 times a week. Some posts were getting less attention than I wanted for them. I was also noticing that readers read on certain days. It can be tough to find a balance, but like you said, if you need a break, take one and post less, if you want to post more, do so!

I'm doing that as we speak, err, type ;)

I would like to post everyday but sometimes I have a very busy work week and I miss a few days. I went on vacation and I missed like 2 weeks which was horrible, but I explained to my very few followers that I was out of country and couldn't post.

For the most part I post 5-6 days out of the week. I usually take a blog-break on the weekends, not just from blogs but from the internet in general, because I'm pretty glued to it all week! My kittens would probably revolt if I didn't take a break. : )

i'd love to post everyday but sometimes i honestly don't have anything worth blogging about. so i aim for every other day and if there's something else in between that i want to share then that works too! :)

I am so loving these tips! I recently did a 30 day posting challenge, and that was the only time I have posted every single day for any length of time. It would be so amazing if I could blog daily, but between family and job, time does not always permit me to do so...and usually I don't feel like I have enough interesting things to write! I am trying to do better, although I am finding that I am enjoying reading blogs as much as I love writing my own!
Posting daily gives me structure to the day and sets the tone. Kinda like your morning prayer! Or breakfast...
When inspiration fails me, I usually post a famous quote or a music video. Something...every day...

I do love blogs that update often too. Not really more than 1 a day.. personally I will update about 3-4 times a week, and usually on set days because sometimes I blog with memes too.

Like on Wed as I just started a Wordless Wed Linky Party so I'd definitely post then :)

I'd usually rest for the weekend to spend more time with family..

I post daily but try to take the weekends off. Once in a blue moon I might miss a beat but for the most part I post once--sometimes twice!--a day every Mon.-Fri. It's like my day job (except I don't get paid :)

Great post!

I post every other day. When I attempted posting daily, my followership got stuck but when I did it on an every other day basis, I got more followers. They must've gotten overwhelmed? I also found that I was better able to write a post of good quality when I don't do it everyday. But yeah, whatever works for the blogger, then s/he should stick to it. Some of my fave blogs post daily and yet I still can't seem to get enough of them! :-)

I post 3-4 times per week, and interact with readers and other blogs I follow multiple times daily on Twitter.

I find this works best for me, because it gives me a chance to craft quality posts about my recipes and experience, instead of churning out "just okay" posts every day.

With a busy career outside blogging I find this the easiest way to fulfil my promise to myself to create quality content.

Most of the blogs I love and respect most do not post every day. Some of them only post 1x/week, but I know that every time they do, their posts will be really interesting, beautiful, informative, etc.

So, I suppose my opinion is that if traffic is your #1 priority, posting every day is probably a good idea. But if quality and relationship-building is your #1, take time to make each post your best effort.

I feel like my posts aren't as well written or not as detailed as i'd like them to be if i post every single day. i like to take a day or 2 off to recollect my thoughts and inspirations. Keep things fresh. :)

Vic, I love this post! When I first began blogging I was irregular, but along the way I have begun to blog pretty much daily. Sometimes I will go every other day...whatever feels good I guess! :) thanks for writing this post...excellent.

I used to rarely post even though I did have an idea or two. There just weren't enough hours in the day. However, last month I decided to do recaps for all my non-reality network shows and now I post at least twice a day, every day except Saturday. I try to do the other posts I have in mind but between job searching, offline life, and online life, it's not that easy. There needs to be 36 hours in a day or something!
I post every two days. This is better for me as I can still catch up with my homework and other stuff. Because my life is basically blogging, school and dance! I have never had a complaint or lost a follower but maybe in the future I will start posting everyday. However on a previous blog I tried doing that but always found myself apologising so I find my method easier!

I try to post a few times a week, but there were a few months that it was only once a week. I guess I need to try and be more consistent. I plan on posting every day in November. I think that's NaNoBloMo. :-)
I shoot for 5 times a week. Sometimes I end up posting everyday, sometimes I post 4 times per week. Just depends. Sometimes, I want a week long break, though!!

Thank you for this post. I am new to the blogging world ( I just started in September) and I would like to have growth on my readers. Its nice to share to the world whatever we feel, like things happening in our lives, something that inspired us or cool photos.

I am hoping to gain more readers as time passes by. Hope you can stop by mine and post a shoutout! :-)

First off, I'm new here and I'm a little overwhelmed by everything within this blog. But, I am taking my time and looking around and taking it all in.

Secondly, I'm an irregular blogger. But I'm like that because I suffer from depression and even though I love writing, I'm not always in the mood to write. It's something I'm trying to motivate myself to do (among other things).

But I really do appreciate this post, it's got some useful tips and thanks for creating this space!

I'd love to post every day, but with real life this just doesn't happen all the time. I simply post when I feel like it!
